Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during weekend shifts (7a-7p & 7p-7a), ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems Matrix
- Provide direct patient care including catheter care, wound management, and basic life support as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with legal and organizational policies
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Conduct staff evaluations, provide mentorship, and facilitate ongoing training on topics such as infection control, preventative care, and emergency procedures
- Manage incident reports, quality assurance activities, and ensure adherence to standards for patient safety and care quality
Qualifications
- Valid MS RN license in good standing with current state registration
- Experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems Matrix or PCC; familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding and medical documentation standards
- Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience within a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and patient assessment techniques
- Ability to handle complex clinical situations including falls with or without injuries, respiratory issues, acute pain management, etc.
- Strong communication skills to effectively lead staff and collaborate across disciplines
