Summary: The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing warehouse related functions of handling merchandise and product incoming or outgoing including shipping, receiving, transferring, stocking, picking, and pulling product for customers, vendors, and branch locations as required.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for general warehouse work as directed, including working in any and all departments within the warehouse relating to freight either incoming or outgoing.
- Accurately fills sales orders or transfers for product and distributes items to shipping or will call.
- Adequately assists shipping, receiving, transfers, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise and distributing to counter staff for processing.
- Efficiently moves materials and items from receiving or transfer areas to shipping areas or stock locations as designated.
- Accurately sorts and places product on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Ensures the warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and customer traffic.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of their work area.
- Organizes warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Safely loads and secures products based on standard warehousing procedures.
- Properly handles bills of lading and performs the proper procedure for notation of exceptions.

Inventory Control
- Accurately marks product or orders with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Adequately assists in counting of physical inventory.
- Responsible for accuracy and efficiency in the handling of merchandise.
- Responsible for properly following procedures relating to checking and double-checking merchandise and the proper reporting of errors.
- Responsible for properly inspecting all products handled for damage and properly notifying a supervisor in the event damaged product is found.
- Responsible for inspecting all incoming freight for damage and for accuracy in quantities compared to the bill of lading and packing slips when required.
- Responsible for promptly reporting inventory discrepancies.
- Responsible for promptly reporting location discrepancies.
Safety
- Utilizes safe work processes and compliance with company safety procedures including but not limited to compressed gas tank handling, and two-man lift procedures.
- When loading vehicles, responsible for securing all products in vehicle properly to prevent shifting or damage to product.
- Responsible for wearing proper safety gear and PPE.
- Conducts proper operations and safety inspections on material handling equipment.
- Performs work duties in a safe manner and adheres to company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Promptly corrects and reports unsafe conditions.
- Promptly reports injuries, accidents, and incidences, and correctly completes proper paperwork in reporting so.
General
- Responsible to act in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth in the employee handbook, operations manuals, safety handbook, and all other manuals relative to the warehouse
- Responsible for checking in with supervisor upon arrival and prior to departure each day as well as before and after breaks and meal periods each day.
- Answer job queues and messages in a prompt manner.
Other
- Safety Sensitive Position: the ability to perform job functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Maintains proficiency with company computer systems in aspects related to job, such as data entry, messaging, call logs, data notations, queue updates, or other job & office functions and requirements.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma or its GED equivalent
- 1 or more years’ experience with warehousing and related functions
- Demonstrates ability and willingness to safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklift, 2 wheel and 4-wheel carts, pallet jacks, other carts using required safety gear
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Aptitude for mathematical operations
- Use computers, photocopiers, scanners, phone systems and meeting and virtual platform sharing relative to the needs of the job
