Expanding steel service center is hiring Slitter Operators, Slitter Helpers and Packaging line employees for day shift.

Responsibilities
- Operate and/or assist with operation of steel slitting lines, including setup according to work orders and safety procedures.
- Set up slitter heads: select and install knives, spacers, and rubber rings; verify slit widths and tolerances using measuring tools (tape measures, gauges).
- Load and unload steel coils using overhead crane or forklift (if qualified); secure coils correctly on the mandrel and take-up reels.
- Monitor line speed, coil tracking, and strip quality; make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications.
- Assist on the packaging line: band, wrap, label, and stage finished slit coils; perform basic data entry for packaging/production records.
- Inspect material for surface defects, edge quality, and correct dimensions; report issues to supervisors and help troubleshoot.
- Follow all company safety rules, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe lifting/handling of materials (up to 40 lbs).
- Work collaboratively with operators, helpers, and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Requirements
- Ability to bend and lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be drug free and able to pass a 10-panel drug screen.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record
- Basic data entry skills for packaging line operations and production reporting.
- Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures; comfortable reading basic measurements and tolerances.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Team-oriented attitude with willingness to learn and support operators, helpers, and packaging team as needed.
- Preferred (but not required): experience with overhead crane operation, forklift operation, and/or working with steel coils or slitting lines.
Starting pay based on experience. Significantly higher for experience in the steel slitting industry. Growing company with opportunities to advance for dependable hardworking applicants.
