Light Commercial Installer

Role and Responsibilities

The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:

• Install or replace split system or packaged HVAC systems
  • Install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing
    • Copper/Copper
    • Complete systems
    • Repair systems
• Recover, pressure test, evacuate, charge and leak test refrigerants - split systems
• Install and measure duct connections
• Use a variety of hand tools, interpret drawings, plans, and specifications, to install, assemble, and test the system Capable of identifying HVAC equipment and components of HVAC equipment
  • Packaged, Split…..
  • Compressor, Contactor, Suction/Discharge/Liquid lines, Condenser/Evaporator…….
  • Complete understanding of the refrigeration cycle
  • Complete understanding of the electrical system
  • Complete understanding of the products control system
  • Identify and recommend repairs needed
• Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Previous experience in residential or light commercial split-level install
• Able to evacuate and recharge systems
• Must have own hand tools
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
• Must successfully pass a background check
• Attending or completed HVAC technical training.
  • Community College
  • OJT
  • Military HVAC/Electrical Training
  • Possess or capable of obtaining Universal Certification
