MDM Data Quality Analyst

Work Location & Model

Work Arrangement: 100% Remote (Telecommute)

Location Preference:

  • Must reside within the Continental United States.
  • Central U.S., Illinois, or Midwest-based candidates preferred.

Travel Requirement:

  • Occasional travel may be required based on project or client needs.


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced MDM Data Quality Analyst to support Master Data Management (MDM) services for a large-scale Health and Human Services Innovation initiative. This role will focus on data quality analysis, data profiling, business and technical requirements gathering, testing, validation, and data governance activities that support a unified cross-agency client/member view across State programs.

The selected candidate will work closely with the MDM Technical Lead to perform data analysis, data quality assessments, testing, requirements gathering, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, SQL analysis, and validation activities to ensure reliable and accurate MDM operations.

MDM Services Overview

The MDM team supports a statewide initiative designed to:

  • Integrate multiple State agency data sources into a unified platform.
  • Create a holistic view of clients and members served across State programs.
  • Improve program administration and service delivery through better data management.
  • Provide advanced analytics, data quality analysis, and business/data analysis support.
  • Develop custom dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Utilize Informatica MDM and related integration technologies to support data processing and downstream system requirements.
  • Establish and maintain data quality standards and governance practices.
  • Collaborate with State staff, vendors, and partners to improve data consistency, quality, and integrity.
  • Support policy development and program evaluation through data-driven insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve outcomes, operational efficiency, and cost savings through analytics and data quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Validation

  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to support MDM solutions.
  • Perform SQL analysis, data validation, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
  • Analyze data anomalies, matching issues, and client/member record quality concerns.
  • Conduct data profiling and quality assessment activities.

MDM Support

  • Support MDM solutions and data quality processes.
  • Collaborate with project teams supporting database objects, including tables, stored procedures, and views.
  • Execute and maintain scripts and programs that support MDM operations and design specifications.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Participate in unit, integration, and system testing activities.
  • Support QA, UAT, and production validation efforts.
  • Assist end users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Validate data integrity and functionality across multiple systems.

Business Analysis

  • Gather and document business and technical requirements.
  • Prepare analyses using information from internal and external sources.
  • Support project and change request evaluations by assessing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participate in project discussions and recommend technical solutions or alternative approaches.

Data Governance & Stewardship

  • Perform data quality assessments and document findings, recommendations, and remediation opportunities.
  • Support data governance and data stewardship activities.
  • Leverage established governance practices to improve data consistency and integrity.

  • 5 years of experience in:

Technical Skills

  • Experience with MDM platforms such as Informatica MDM.
  • Strong SQL skills working with large relational database environments.
  • Experience with:

  • Experience supporting MDM modernization initiatives.
