What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer position at MSR Technology Group?
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full-vehicle CFD models for aero and thermal performance development.
- Run simulation cases in STAR-CCM , summarize results, and communicate feedback effectively with design teams.
- Prepare models and components for simulation using ANSA.
- Support physical testing, including test data analysis and technical reporting.
- Design experiments to optimize current and future aerodynamic and thermal solutions.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering groups to solve design challenges.
- Lead actions to create countermeasures and improve performance based on simulated and physical test results.
- Contribute to and maintain a strong workplace safety culture.
- Perform additional engineering tasks as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on CFD modeling experience
- Proficiency in ANSA for pre-processing and model preparation
- Strong command of STAR-CCM for model setup, simulation execution, and performance evaluation
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for automated data analysis and visualization
- Strong communication skills and ability to negotiate design adjustments based on test data
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in automotive design, testing, or performance development
- Experience collaborating with design teams to meet performance objectives
- Ability to interpret and correlate results from both simulation and physical testing
