What are the responsibilities and job description for the Methuen Adoption Center Manager position at MSPCA-Angell?
The MSPCA-Angell is looking for an experienced manager at our Nevins Farm location in Methuen (40 hours/week, weekends required).
As the Manager for the Methuen Adoption Center and Nevins Farm, you would join the Management team at our 55 acre animal care complex that provides adoption services for companion and farm animals as well as low cost veterinary services through our Community Clinic.
Salary: $65,000–$75,000, depending on experience. Relocation assistance available for out of state applicants.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
You’ll work closely with our Director of Operations to:
- Guide and support an incredible team of staff and volunteers
- Work alongside the behavior and medical teams with a focus on quality of life and decreased length of stay for animals at the adoption center.
- Create positive, respectful experiences for adopters, surrenderers, and visitors
- Lead group discussions, trainings, scheduling, performance development, and team culture
- Lead daily adoption center shelter operations, including the intake, care, adoption, and euthanasia of animals.
- In conjunction with the volunteer and foster care coordinator, work to foster a positive and supportive culture aimed at the inclusion, development and integration of volunteers into our collective goal
- Provide euthanasia counseling while upholding the highest standard of respectful, compassionate care
- Model the kindness and professionalism that define the MSPCA

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 2 years of management or supervisory experience (non-profit preferred)
- 2 years of experience working in animal sheltering, veterinary services, or comparable social services fields
- Bachelor's degree
- A compassionate, people-centered leader who believes deeply in helping animals and their families
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- A commitment to maintaining the positive, supportive culture we’ve built
- Spanish proficiency is a plus!
