This is a full time 40 hour a week position. Monday - Friday 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm

THE POSITION :

This is an exciting position in our MSPCA-Angell Boston Adoption Center Community Clinic. The primary responsibilities of this position are overseeing and coordinating spay / neuter and medical care services provided by the MSPCA-Angell Boston Community Clinic.

Our animal clinic provides medical care to the animals at our Boston Adoption Center as well as low cost spay / neuter and acute outpatient veterinary care for animals of low income pet owners. The MSPCA has the largest network of low cost veterinary clinics in New England. The goal of our Community Clinics is to provide affordable and accessible care and help keep families together with their pets.

  • The Community Clinic Coordinator is the primary client contact and coordinator of medical services aimed at providing affordable pet care for families in need and interacts with several departments within our organization. Some of the duties are;
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients to coordinate and communicate services offered at our MSPCA-Shelter Clinic.
  • The assessment of financial need and approval for veterinary services for pets of low income pet owners.
  • Coordinate sensitive and complex medical cases with clients.
  • Coordinate the workflow of the clinic, schedule appointments, and facilitate the intake and discharge of animals.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to assess and determine mission- centric program needs.
  • Provide support to schedule, organize, promote and attend outreach events and activities.
  • Compile and analyze statistics for use in internal reports, grant reports, and Shelter Animals Count.
  • Train and work closely with volunteers in order to streamline intake and discharge of spay / neuter and medical care clients.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS :

We are looking for applicants with at least one year of experience in an animal shelter, animal clinic, or similar environment. Applicants also need :

  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • well organized and have great attention to detail
  • are skilled at de-escalation techniques with unhappy clients
  • have the ability to work independently when needed
  • have a strong knowledge of general dog / cat care, as well as a love for animals
  • bilingual candidates (Spanish) strongly encouraged to apply
