THE POSITION:
The Inpatient Services Technician Trainer is responsible for the training, development, and advancement of veterinary technicians and assistants within the Inpatient Services Department, including ICU, ER/Triage, and ER, Specialty Technicians.
This role serves as both a clinical leader and educator, working collaboratively with Managers, Supervisors, and Veterinary Staff to ensure all team members demonstrate strong technical skills, critical thinking, and adherence to hospital standards of care. The Trainer is a hands-on member of the technical team, providing real-time coaching, structured onboarding, and ongoing professional development to support staff at all levels. The Trainer plays a key role in building a learning-focused culture, identifying skill gaps, developing training programs, and ensuring competency progression across all experience levels

In this fun and highly visible role as the Inpatient Department’s Training Coach, you would:
- Partner with the Inpatient Services Manager and leadership team to develop, implement, and continuously improve training programs for technicians and assistants.
- Lead onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring consistent, structured, and supportive training experiences.
- Provide hands-on clinical training and mentorship on the floor, reinforcing best practices in patient care, treatments, and workflows.
- Take primary responsibility for training new and current technical staff across all inpatient service areas.
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback during clinical shifts to reinforce learning and skill development.
- Utilize standardized training checklists and competency assessments to track and validate skill progression.
- Lead or contribute to hospital-wide training initiatives and technician education programs.
- Ensure consistency in training across all shifts, including direct engagement with overnight staff.

COMPENSATION:
Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $38-$40/hr, $10k sign on bonus for new employees hired into the ECC department!

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for applicants with at least three years’ of experience working in veterinary healthcare management and one year experience in training. Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) within the state of Massachusetts required. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
