Department: Job Description Summary: Position Responsibilities Demonstrates the skills to perform the following tasks: a. Empties all trash cans as scheduled. b. Maintains grounds clean as scheduled. c. Powers, washes and removes gum from entrances as scheduled. d. Blows parking structure and parking lots as scheduled. e. Sweeps and cleans as needed. f. Digs trenches on holes for piping, sprinkler heads, plants, etc. g. Mixes and pours concrete as required. h. Installs signs as needed. I. Paints road marking as needed. j. Plants flowers, bushes or trees as required. k. Patches holes in the pavement as needed. l. Moves, installs, replaces or removes car bumpers as needed. m. Removes debris from the roads as needed. n. Maintains and inspects all issues related to "Life Safety". o. Helps all other trades as needed. p. Assists in all drills and codes. Performs other general and routine general maintenance functions and repairs on a variety of ground matters. Perform routine inspection and cleaning of storm drains. Assists in construction, remodeling and maintenance projects. Conducts preventive maintenance and performs general safety checks related to grounds and equipment. Competently and safely operates ground machinery and tools. Ensures the safety of other staff and applies proper use of assigned personal protective equipment. Cuts and trims grass, paints, removes weeds, plants and prunes shrubs, flowers, bushes, etc. Waters landscaped areas, grass, plants, and flowers. Rakes and blows leaves. Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Cleans, power washes, and sweeps the sidewalks, parking lots, parking structures, and surrounding paved areas. Treats and applies sealants to sidewalks, asphalt, and wood. Inspects, identifies, and reports equipment and signs that need repair. Removes and transfers trash/garbage from the facility area. May assist in furniture and equipment moves throughout the facility. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification Possession of a valid Florida Driver License with no more than 4 points Education High School Diploma preferred. Experience Two to three years general maintenance mechanic experience including basic electrical and mechanical work is preferred.
