Role Description
MSM Solutions is seeking a motivated and professional Industrial Systems Field Service Technician to install, repair, configure, and support barcode printers, RFID systems, thermal transfer printers, label applicators, and related industrial equipment used in manufacturing, warehouse, healthcare, and distribution environments.
This position includes onsite field service, remote technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and helping customers develop reliable labeling and product-handling solutions for supply chain operations. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, the ability to communicate effectively with customers, and a commitment to representing MSM Solutions in a professional and customer-focused manner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install, configure, repair, and maintain thermal transfer printers, barcode scanners, RFID systems, and label applicators
- Provide onsite field service and remote technical phone support
- Create and troubleshoot barcode and label formats using industry software
- Diagnose equipment, print quality, communication, and network-related issues
- Configure equipment using USB, Ethernet, serial, and wireless communications
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics
- Use diagnostic tools such as volt meters and electrical testing equipment
- Assist customers with equipment setup, operation, and preventative maintenance
- Support integration with PLC-controlled and industrial automation systems
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with customers and internal staff
- Represent MSM Solutions professionally at customer facilities
Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and customer-service mindset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic Windows and PC operating system knowledge
- Experience connecting equipment through USB and network communications
- Ability to install and operate software applications
- Knowledge of industrial environments and manufacturing operations
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring charts
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Zebra, Sato, Toshiba, Epson, or similar industrial printing systems
- Knowledge of RFID systems and barcode verification
- PLC and industrial controls experience
- Industrial networking and device communication experience
- Experience with CTM Labeling Systems print-and-apply systems and automation equipment
Travel Requirements
Local and regional travel required. Travel schedule may vary depending on customer demand, service calls, installations, and project requirements. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 – $85,000 depending on experience with industrial printing systems, RFID technologies, automation controls, and field service support
