We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to menu specifications
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation protocols during all phases of food handling and preparation
- Assist in menu planning and ensure adherence to dietary guidelines when applicable
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Support catering and special event meal preparations as needed
- Ensure timely delivery of prepared foods to service areas or dining areas
- Assist with serving meals and maintaining a clean dining environment when required
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen environment, including restaurant or catering settings, is preferred
- Knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Skills in food preparation, cooking, knife handling, and meal assembly are essential
- Experience with menu planning, dietary requirements, and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and basic culinary techniques is desirable
- Prior experience in Caribbean food service or the food industry will support success in this role
