Essential Functions
Risk Evaluation & Underwriting
- Analyze new and renewal submissions to assess exposure, loss history, financial condition, and overall risk quality.
- Determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions in accordance with company guidelines and market conditions.
- Structure casualty programs including primary, excess, and specialty liability coverages.
- Apply sound judgment to balance risk appetite with business development goals.
- Manage a book of business to achieve profitability, retention, and growth targets.
- Monitor account performance, loss trends, and industry developments to adjust underwriting strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and insureds.
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and negotiate terms effectively.
- Participate in client meetings, underwriting audits, and market presentations.
- Work closely with actuarial, claims, risk engineering, and product teams to evaluate complex risks.
- Contribute to product development, underwriting guidelines, and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor junior underwriters or underwriting assistants as needed.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) required
- 7 years of related multi-line background required.
- Existing producer relationships preferred.
- Must have demonstrated negotiation and production skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
