Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Take full ownership of the organization’s financial function, including oversight and validation of all accounting outputs
- Direct and supervise property-level accounting through internal team members responsible for day-to-day accounting activities
- Maintain responsibility for corporate-level accounting, including the general ledger, consolidations, and financial statement integrity
- Oversee financial reporting at both the fund and asset level
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Manage lender compliance, covenant reporting, and lender relationships
- Coordinate tax matters with external advisors
- Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures
KPI, Reporting & Systems
- Design and implement KPI frameworks across the portfolio
- Build and maintain dashboards to track leasing activity, operating expenses, capital projects, and NOI performance
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting systems
- Establish reporting cadence and accountability processes across the team
Transactions, Capital Markets & Investor Processes
- Review acquisition underwriting, financial models, and due diligence materials
- Oversee financial aspects of due diligence, including validation of assumptions and identification of risks
- Support equity and debt structuring, including review of term sheets, loan documents, and partnership agreements
- Coordinate and manage capital calls, including investor communications and tracking
- Oversee quarterly distribution calculations and execution
- Lead preparation and delivery of quarterly investor reporting
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, and financings through closing and post-closing integration
Leadership & Growth
- Serve as a trusted financial partner to ownership and executive leadership
- Help build scalable systems, processes, and infrastructure to support organizational growth
- Expand into broader operational leadership responsibilities over time based on performance
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in real estate investment, private equity, or a related environment
- Demonstrated progression into a senior finance leadership role
- Experience operating as the lead or primary finance professional in a lean environment preferred
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting, underwriting, and financial reporting
- Experience with debt structures, lender requirements, and capital markets processes
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management and accounting systems preferred
- Experience with IMS or similar investor reporting or portal systems preferred
- Proven ability to build systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-focused mindset
- CPA, CFA, and/or MBA preferred but not required
