What You’ll Do
- Execute repair and maintenance work on-site and on-board under provided instructions
- Perform workshop technician duties in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Prepare personal hand tools, consumables, materials, and manuals for field assignments
- Use portable and shop equipment such as valve seat grinders/cutters and honing tools
- Assist Supervisors with troubleshooting diesel engines and turbochargers
- Follow all manufacturer specifications and MSHS Pacific Power Group ISO standards
- Write accurate and detailed technical service reports
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and customers
- Strong technical understanding of turbocharger systems and mechanical components
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in repair work
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and established guidelines
- Availability to work occasional weekends
- Ability to produce written technical reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering OR
- 2-year degree in a technical/vocational discipline OR
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
- 4–6 years of related experience; marine/offshore industry strongly preferred
- Industrial/technical college background is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Capable of standing for long periods, kneeling, stooping, and working in tight or uncomfortable spaces
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be able to twist, turn, and maneuver frequently during tasks
