What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform advanced diagnostics and fault finding across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Install, commission, and support control systems and automation equipment
- Read and interpret electrical and control schematics
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to customers and internal teams
- Support in-house system testing and control system builds
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in field and shop environments
- Act as a technical escalation resource for service execution and customer support
- Prepare accurate service reports and documentation
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
- Work overtime, including nights or weekends, as required
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience in power generation, industrial automation, marine systems, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting capability
- Experience working independently in customer-facing field service roles
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics
- Working knowledge of industrial control systems, automation platforms, AVRs, PLC-based systems, and HMI or SCADA environments
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial or outdoor environments
- Ability to obtain a Passport and TWIC card
- Military technical background
- Generator controls commissioning or service experience
- PLC configuration or programming exposure
- HMI or SCADA configuration or troubleshooting experience
- Familiarity with industrial communication networks and protocols
- Spanish language skills
- Trade school, technical training, or associate degree in electrical, controls, or mechanical disciplines
- Ability to work in confined spaces, industrial facilities, and outdoor environments
- Comfortable standing, kneeling, stooping, and working on equipment for extended periods
- Willingness to travel and work variable schedules based on service needs
