Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers via walk-ins, phone calls, and email inquiries.
- Research and identify parts using electronic and paper catalogs, providing accurate estimates and availability information.
- Enter orders into internal and external systems once verified.
- Provide parts recommendations based on technical knowledge and customer needs.
- Collect and process detailed customer order information, including payments.
- Support the Service Department with product pricing and availability requests.
- Monitor backorders daily to ensure prompt receipt and delivery.
- Conduct research for purchase order discrepancies, past due items, and suggest corrections.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support after-hours needs.
- Attend training and actively seek opportunities to grow your skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2 years of parts experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong customer service and communication skills (in-person, phone, and email).
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and online vendor/order systems.
- Ability to define problems, analyze data, and develop solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of marine, power generation and/or industrial diesel engines.
- Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, and other basic figures.
