  • Lead corrective actions, root cause analysis, and systemic improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with operations and SOP stakeholders to institutionalize consistent, repeatable best practices.

Environmental, Health & Safety

  • Design and implement environmental compliance programs across multiple regional jurisdictions.
  • Oversee safety programs and partner with the Safety Manager to embed safe work practices throughout the organization.
  • Develop and execute field safety audit programs in power generation, marine, and service environments.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and prioritize remediation of high-risk areas.

Continuous Improvement

  • Establish a structured CI framework grounded in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, proactive problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Work cross-functionally to prioritize improvement initiatives with meaningful operational impacts.

Document Control & SOP Governance

  • Manage and enhance the centralized SOP/document control system.
  • Lead governance processes for SOP drafting, approval, and distribution.
  • Support adoption of standardized processes through clear structure and collaboration.

Leadership & Organizational Growth

  • Serve as a strategic leader who can articulate direction and drive system-level transformation.
  • Mentor and develop team members within the QEHS organization.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders to align quality, environmental, and safety goals with operational performance.

Performance Measurement

  • Define and manage KPIs across QEHS functions, including quality, safety, and environmental metrics.
  • Examples include:
    • ISO audit outcomes
    • Defect and error trends
    • Safety incident rates
    • Environmental compliance progress
  • Use data to drive improvement, guide decision-making, and report results to senior leadership.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Safety, or related field.
  • 10 years of QEHS experience, including 4 years in leadership.
  • Strong background in heavy industrial, marine, power generation, remanufacturing, or field service environments.
  • Demonstrated success implementing ISO 9001.
  • Broad compliance experience across multiple states or regions is preferred.
  • Strong ability to lead change, build systems, and influence across teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Ideal Leadership Attributes

The Successful Candidate Will Be Someone Who

  • Is proactive, confident, and comfortable operating with autonomy.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
  • Enjoys architecting systems, building structure, and driving organizational maturity.
  • Responds well to challenges and brings energy, stamina, and focus to high-impact initiatives.
  • Can manage multiple streams of work while maintaining clarity on long-term goals.
  • Values both strategic vision and precise execution.
