Candidates should have 2 years of using hockey specific data, data analysis and data engineering skills.
What will you do?
- Design and implement web-based statistical applications for hockey operations.
- Interface with hockey operations departments (e.g., strategy, scouting) to build visualizations, tools, and reporting capabilities to meet their needs.
- Enjoy being a generalist working on both the front-end, backend, and doing anything it takes to solve problems and deliver what users need.
- Working experience with data quality and validation, as well as with Data visualization tools.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related field
- 2 years experience in the following:
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills – must be able to breakdown complex tasks and craft an execution strategy with little guidance.
- Knowledge of hockey is required.
- Ability to work independently and collectively as part of the team
- Ability to work off hours, including weekends and holidays
- Working experience with Data and Statistical computer languages (SQL, R, Python, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge/in-depth understanding of NHL and league data sources
