Job Summary
MSE Landscape Professionals is seeking a motivated and experienced Construction Manager / Sales Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for managing landscape construction projects, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting sales efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Duties:
- Meet with clients to assess project needs and provide recommendations
- Prepare detailed proposals, budgets, and scopes of work
- Perform material takeoffs and labor calculations for estimates
- Track project costs to ensure profitability and budget compliance
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and scheduling
- Conduct site visits before, during, and after project completion
- Manage project timelines and ensure deadlines are met
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Resolve field issues and provide solutions quickly to avoid delays
- Oversee quality control and inspect completed work for client satisfaction
- Identify change orders and communicate additional costs to clients
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain strong customer relationships
- Work with Account Managers to transition completed projects into maintenance accounts
- Assist in training and developing foremen and crew leaders
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and communication logs
- Attend client meetings, pre-construction meetings, and site walkthroughs
- Monitor equipment and material usage to reduce waste and improve efficiency
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in landscape construction, project management, or estimating
- Strong knowledge of landscape installation, irrigation systems, hardscape, and plant material
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and specifications
- Experience preparing bids, takeoffs, and cost estimates
- Knowledge of budgeting, labor forecasting, and job costing
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing field crews and subcontractors
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at once
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
