What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Development Specialist position at MSC?
The MS Consultants Team is currently seeking a Practice Development Specialist. In this role, you will support the growth and development of our Cost Segregation team by coordinating marketing and business development initiatives, events, webinars, conferences, speaking engagements, sponsorships, and other marketplace activities.
This position also serves as a central point of coordination between Partners, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure practice development initiatives are strategically planned, effectively executed, and aligned with MSC’s business objectives.
We are currently seeking candidates in our Virginia Beach, Virginia, Buffalo, New York, or Rochester, New York offices.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage development initiatives, including conferences, tradeshows, webinars, speaking engagements, sponsorships, and other external-facing activities.
- Partner with MSC Partners and internal teams to identify and support opportunities that strengthen relationships, expand market presence, and promote the firm’s services.
- Serve as a central point of contact for assigned practice development initiatives, coordinating timelines, deliverables, meetings, communications, and follow-up activities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project and event timelines, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are clearly established and met.
- Create and maintain event checklists covering materials, deadlines, stakeholders, travel arrangements, meetings, promotional activities, and post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate planning meetings and ensure action items, responsibilities, and deadlines are clearly communicated and tracked.
- Own and coordinate MSC’s webinar platform, including presenter preparation, scheduling, logistics, technical coordination, reporting, and post-event follow-up.
- Collaborate with internal marketing teams to support promotional activities and maximize the impact of development initiatives.
- Anticipate Partner and stakeholder needs and proactively coordinate resources, communications, and deliverables.
- Stay informed about upcoming opportunities, events, and activities relevant to the MSC practice and identify ways the firm can participate or gain visibility.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the year.
Qualifications
Required:
- A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of one year of experience in marketing, business development, practice development, event coordination, or a related field.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
The salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $70,000 and is commensurate with experience.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
- Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Flex Friday scheduling available in accordance to firm policy and business needs
- We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times
