The Assistant Laboratory Manager supports the Laboratory Manager in overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring the efficient execution of testing processes and compliance with quality standards. This role involves managing personnel, assisting in technical troubleshooting, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are

Job description:
Operational Management:
- Assist in managing client jobs within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Oversee daily laboratory workflows to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Coordinate routine maintenance and timely repair of laboratory equipment.
- Support the inventory management process by tracking consumables and assisting in procurement.
Quality Assurance:
- Enforce quality control procedures under the guidance of the Laboratory Manager.
- Ensure adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with the team to maintain compliance with quality certifications and documentation.
Technical Support:
- Provide hands-on support for complex testing and troubleshooting.
- Aid in training staff on new methods, SOPs, and updated protocols.
- Contribute to the development and validation of laboratory methods.
Staff Management:
- Assist in monitoring staffing levels and coordinating shift schedules.
- Support staff performance reviews and recommend training needs.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify areas for process optimization.
- Assist in implementing cost-saving measures while maintaining quality.
- Stay updated on emerging laboratory practices and share findings with the team.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a related discipline.
Experience:
- 5-10 years of laboratory experience
- Minimum 2 years as a supervisor/manager.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.
