SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
LEADER - COMMUNICATOR - MOTIVATOR
TEAM BUILDER - MANAGER - GUIDE
MSAD #53 seeks an outstanding, proven and dynamic leader to serve 545 students (PK-8) of the communities of Burnham, Detroit and Pittsfield, Maine. Our high school students are tuitioned to Maine Central Institute.
The selected candidate will:
- Lead with the values of our Mission and Strategic Plan - Relationships, respect, responsibility, equity and lifelong learning.
- Have the ability to inspire, motivate, guide and direct staff in setting and achieving the highest standards of educational excellence.
- Have a strong working knowledge of school finance, budgeting, funding, and facilities management.
- Have good organizational skills, an understanding of collective bargaining and a working knowledge of school law.
- Have the ability to understand and serve in the multifaceted relationship with the school board.
- Have the ability to work with staff to identify curriculum skills or learning objectives which are appropriate to the student body.
- Provide an environment for professional development, growth and staff development.
- Always act in the best interest of students and staff.
Our district has been approved for a new school to house grades PK-8. A key component of this role would include liaising with the New School Building Committee and the Maine Department of Education.
