ANTICIPATED OPENING
Position: Instructional Coach – Literacy and/or Math, PK-5
Date Position Available: Immediate Opening
Required: Candidate must have a minimum of a Masters' Degree in Education and/or National Board Certification; Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience; hold Maine Department of Education Certification: Curriculum Coordinator/Supervisor (078), Literacy Specialist (092), or General Elementary (020); and current CHRC authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education. Preferred certificate in literacy or math coaching.
Qualifications: MSAD 11, serving the towns of Gardiner, Pittston, Randolph, and West Gardiner, is seeking a person who has successful experience in research-based instructional practices and differentiated instruction; ability to work collaboratively with adult learners and assume the role of teacher leader; experience providing professional development and facilitation in leading adult learning groups; strong organization, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills; and strong technological skills.
Job Goal: To help close the gap and accelerate learning for all students in literacy and/or math by building teacher capacity through implementation of effective instructional practices and student centered coaching practices.
Responsibilities: Works cooperatively with teachers and administrators; fosters a safe, trusting environment for teachers; directly works with teachers by collaborating, co-planning, modeling instruction, and providing descriptive feedback as requested by the teacher or administrator; engages teachers in reflective practices; designs and facilitates professional learning opportunities at the district and building level with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction; has knowledge of Title I programming; has extensive knowledge of MTSS processes and research-based interventions; and assists the Director of Curriculum and Instruction with teacher committee work related to curriculum design, MTSS, Title I, and implementation.
Teacher Pay Scale (2025-2026) Pending Negotiations
Placement on the scale is dependent upon degree and experience.
