Responsibilities
Production and process support
Recommend and assist our engineers with manufacturing process design changes to increase efficiency throughout our facility.
Assist our engineers with new product development and/or design concern resolution through verification of proposed design changes
Assist in sustaining engineering tasks for existing production lines.
Collect production data
Work with Operations and Engineering to resolve concerns with product function or design
Prepare and maintain production work cells, equipment, tooling, and materials to ensure smooth operations when and as required by the Engineering teams
Documentation data and system maintenance
Create and maintain Work Instructions, SOPs, SAP master data (routings, BOMs, WMS, etc.) under managerial guidance.
Verify production data against ERP/MES for accuracy and integrity; report discrepancies to Engineer
Support audits, validations, and process check by ensuring accurate documentation.
Provide feedback on improvements to process documentation and standard work.
Conduct time studies to analyze and improve work methods and process efficiency, as needed
Continuous Improvement and Industrialization
Participate in Continuous Improvement activities such as 5 Why, Kaizen, and layout optimization projects.
Support development of Poke Yoke, error-proofing, or engineering solutions.
Provide input to line layout design, ergonomic improvements, and process enhancements.
Review errors and rework to determine root cause and recommended corrective actions
Safety and Training Support
Participate in investigations of process deviations or non-conforming products and assist in corrective actions.
Conduct training of operators and line leaders on new or updated processes, SOPs, and Work Instructions as and when needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, promoting operational excellence and adherence to EHS standards.
Qualifications
Responsibilities and Experience Required:
Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in assembly, machining, or process operations.
Understanding of process documentation (work instructions, SOPs, routings, BOMs).
Capable of supporting line setup, troubleshooting, and production improvement activities.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and ERP/MES updates.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence attitudes and behaviours
Ability to manage workload and support multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated customer centric focus
Preferred:
Familiarity with line setup, line balance, flow lines and Kanban
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools (6S, 5 Why, Poke Yoke, Kaizen, etc.).
Experience supporting Continuous Improvement (CI) or problem-solving activities (DMAIC, FPY improvement)
Familiarity with SAP, Warehouse Management, MES (Kanoa) and Continuous Improvement management (eKaizen) systems
Industrial Engineering mindset/background
Education Required:
Associate’s degree in engineering technology, electronics or related discipline
This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.:
o Level one (Engineering Technician I): no relevant experience
o Level two (Engineering Technician II): 2 years relevant experience
o Level three (Engineering Technician III): 5 years relevant experience
Education Preferred:
Pursuing an Industrial Engineering degree
