Summary
MS Transverse is looking for a dynamic and engaging Reinsurance Operations Analyst who is looking for an opportunity to join an industry-leading Property and Casualty insurance carrier focused on partnering with Reinsurers, MGAs/Program Administrators, and Insurtechs.

The Reinsurance Operations Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the company's risk management strategy by overseeing the administration, accounting, and reporting of all ceded and assumed reinsurance activities. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, reinsurers, and auditors.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of reinsurance operations, including treaty setup, premium and claims processing, and ongoing contract administration
- Collect, prepare, and analyze complex data to drive operational decisions, perform reconciliations of accounts with reinsurers and brokers, and ensure data accuracy in all systems
- Prepare payments for various settlements such as deposit premiums, quota share settlements, and adjustments
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal departments (e.g., Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Finance, IT) and external partners (brokers, reinsurers) to resolve inquiries and coordinate transaction issues
- Identify and implement enhancements to systems and workflows to increase operational efficiency and accuracy. Document standard operating procedures and functional designs
- Utilize advanced Excel functions like Pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP, SUMIF’s, and data visualization tools
- Develop and maintain excel models and spreadsheets
- Handle additional ceded accounting responsibilities as deemed priority by management
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year’s experience in insurance or reinsurance operations, with a strong background in data analysis
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administrations, or a related quantitative field is required
Desired Skills & Experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of linking data across multiple spreadsheets using formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, Macros, Dashboards, etc.) is highly desired
- Data validation and data management skills to maintain and organize data effectively and ensure accuracy and consistency between linked spreadsheets Experience with data analysis tools like SQL is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills are essential. Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage a large workload to tight deadlines
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
