What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Insurance Operations position at MS Transverse?
MS Transverse is looking for a dynamic and engaging Manager of Insurance Operations for an opportunity to join an industry-leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier focused on partnering with Reinsurers, MGAs/Program Administrators, and Insurtech's.
We provide access to commercial lines utilizing our admitted and non-admitted capabilities across all 50 states. You would join a deeply experienced and broadly talented operating team where your experience and drive will become instrumental in further growing our business.
In addition to the day-to-day coordination of activities related to internal and external functions supporting the finance department this position is also responsible for but is not limited to the following:
Role:
- Manages daily accounting and reporting activities including general accounting, account reconciliation including premiums and losses. Ensures financial accountability while minimizing financial risk.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for both US GAAP and statutory books.
- Handle complex accounting for all programs (direct/ceded/assumed) and collaborate with actuarial teams on reserves.
- Assist as needed on MAR/SOX 404 documentation and controls.
- Assist and provide support with annual external audit
- Assist and provide support with program audits
- Support & assist in the implementation of data feed into the general ledger to expedite monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Assist on various ad hoc projects
Qualifications
- 6-8 years’ experience in an insurance accounting role within a property & casualty insurance company, experience with statutory reporting software skills a plus
- Client-centric mindset focused on delivering superior service, troubleshooting, identifying solutions, and results oriented
- Strong organizational & interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technical skills incorporating appropriate tools (excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, other tools. Workday system experience a plus
