Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pre-Operative Responsibilities
- Perform patient admission and identification verification.
- Review medical history, medications, allergies, and surgical consent forms.
- Complete pre-operative nursing assessments.
- Verify completion of required diagnostic testing and physician orders.
- Ensure compliance with NPO status and pre-procedure instructions.
- Initiate and maintain IV access as ordered.
- Administer medications within scope of practice and physician orders.
- Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery or procedures.
- Communicate pertinent patient information to anesthesia providers and physicians.
Post-Operative Responsibilities
- Monitor patients during the recovery phase following anesthesia or sedation.
- Assess and document vital signs, pain levels, neurological status, and overall patient condition.
- Administer medications as ordered.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care, medications, restrictions, and follow-up appointments.
- Ensure discharge criteria are met prior to patient discharge.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
