looking for a (On Site) Food Safety Manager, In Springfield Missouri for a reputed RTE, food manufacturing facility who can build a strong team, lead from the front, and keep our operation in top shape under 21 CFR Part 117 (Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food). A self-starter who understands basic food manufacturing, knows the regulations inside and out, and set the tone for excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the facility’s compliance with FDA 21 CFR 117, GMP, and FSMA requirements.
- Maintain effective HACCP, HARPC, and Food Defense programs.
- Conduct GMP Training and other SOPs as required.
- Maintain a strong Supplier Assurance Program and ability to spearhead recalls.
- Build, train, and lead a QA team that delivers — people who take pride in doing things right the first time.
- Foster a hands-on, accountable culture that values respect, teamwork, and follow-through.
- Be audit ready and lead all audits, inspections, and certification programs (FDA, customer, and third-party).
- Stay on top of documentation, daily activity verification.
- Use data and real-world observations to solve problems at the root cause and prevent them from coming back i.e. open & close CAPA, and CAR for customer complaints.
- Partner with Production planning, Operations and Maintenance to make sure food safety and quality are built into every step of production.
- Responsible for ensuring that all plant sanitation requirements are consistently achieved and maintained. This includes overseeing, monitoring, and verifying the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation activities through both visual inspections and microbiological testing.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to build strong teams, and lead with credibility aka NO NONSENSE LEADERSHIP.
- Strong sense of knowledge on Thermal & Acidified foods process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field required.
- 5 years of QA experience in food or beverage manufacturing, with 2 years in a leadership role.
- Deep working knowledge of FDA food regulations, GFSI (SQF, BRC, etc.), FSMA, HACCP, and HARPC.
- PCQI and HACCP certification mandatory.
- Bi Lingual Preferred (English and Spanish).
