The Entry-Level Sales Engineer will utilize their Computer/Electrical/Mechatronic, or closely related Engineering Degree to help customer engineering and sourcing teams to select and purchase MRS Hardware and Software Products. This role is part of a cross-functional team and will contribute efforts across all company department in the interest of customer relations, product promotion and realization of sales of MRS Electronic Inc products and services. It requires cooperation with all company departments, and communications with many types of customers and partners.
This Entry-Level Sales Engineering role will start with a minimum of three months of in-house training, including Inside and Outside Sales Methodologies, Processes, MRS-internal Systems, ISO-related Quality Systems and MRS Product Training. A transition to full outside technical sales will follow successful completion of the above.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Customers: Participate and share responsibility for customer related activities, collaborate with the CEO, the Director of Sales, other management team members, and the marketing team to create short and mid-term plans, budgets, investments, and resource requirements with focus on high customer satisfaction. This includes:
- Traveling to, and meeting directly with both existing and prospective customer engineering, purchasing, quality and manufacturing personnel to learn of and subsequently help to solve customer requirements for MRS Products.
- Managing assigned customer communications, customer service, quoting, and provide assistance with other accounts as needed.
- Utilize technical knowledge and experience to be able to help customers solve problems using MRS Products and Services.
- Collaborating with sales partners, VARs, distributors, and reps.
- Secure and submit orders by customers for MRS products and services, including follow-up work to assure customer satisfaction and continuation of sales, with the goal of increasing sales.
- Tracking of metrics and success criteria for all sales and marketing activities.
- Reporting of customer activities, seeking and following up with client leads.
- Promoting for Spoke.Zone, SaaS solutions, and software engineering services when hardware sales may follow.
- Maintaining key account relationships and build further sales with existing customers.
- Creation of strategies for expanding the customer base in assigned customers and/or territories.
2. Communication: Communicate and collaborate in an effective, professional manner with colleagues, external partners and customers. Use assigned MRS tools, such as Microsoft Office, TWE, and/or any other such tool as is or may be required by management
3. Other: Special assignments as may be required.
Critical Skills and Experience:
- BS in a relatable (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics) Engineering field, or sufficient work experience and product knowledge.
- Ability to learn and adhere to ISO 9001 system and processes including automotive processes for improving quality, efficiency and employee buy-in.
- Ability to manage several Customers simultaneously.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and presentation skills, as well as the ability to interface effectively with customers, partners and vendors.
