What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Maintenace Technican position at MRP Solutions?
The Tool Room Technician produces effective mold and die repairs through the following: fitting components into molds; finishing new products, components, or inserts; assembling pieces when complete; as well as documenting mold repair procedures in IQMS.
Responsibilities:
Support the Tool Room Supervisor in the process of setup, testing, procedures, training, and updating of IQMS relative to tooling and operations.
Perform accurate, safe and correct setups prior to commencement of operation.
At point of startup, assure no flash, water leaks and other potential issues. Address any known previous problems or issues. Properly test for water leaks and test electrical for any issues.
Comply with the established standardization of mold setup and teardown procedures. Apply learned best practices.
Select, align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments accessories and materials on machines
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specs.
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
Perform work within the Tooling Preventive Maintenance program including but not limited to in-mold closings, hoses and water fittings. Utilize IQMS/Kanban to maintain processing related to equipment.
Change non-production molds in advance as needed.
Follow proper procedures including lock-out / tag-out, mold maintenance sheets and others.
Maintain consistent and effective component cleaning and storage.
Maintain liner dies needed for production.
Support OEE/SEE metrics and related goals of cycle attainment, zero-block cavitation, mold set-up compliance, and changeovers to maximize mold efficiency.
Follow the escalation process for tool issues by consistently and openly sharing information with the Tool Room Manager.
Document, standardize and create procedures for repeatability, predictability and improved efficiency specific to related activities.
Perform data entry on shop floor as needed.
Collaborate with Engineering to enable effective vendor sourcing.
Participate in internal machining projects.
Actively participate in tool teardown meetings.
Participate in shift hand-off activity to ensure a smooth shift transition.

Reports any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured products to the locations Food Safety Team Leader and submits an appropriate incident report
