What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Lead (Tosca, Neoload) position at mroads?
mroads is looking for a "Quality Assurance Lead" for one of the direct clients. This is a remote opportunity with the client.
You’ll be the driver of quality culture, not just quality control. Your leadership will inspire a team to move beyond test execution and toward strategic thinking, proactive ownership, and scalable process excellence. This is a rare opportunity to influence the quality of a system that impacts both the business and real-world experiences of guests and hotel staff.
You’ll play a foundational leadership role in delivering a platform that powers daily life for real people around the world. If you're driven by quality as a craft and excited to lead teams that care deeply about building the right thing, the right way, we would love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Lead & Inspire
- Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing QE teams across multiple workstreams.
- Cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement where QE teams are proactive partners, not passive checkers.
Own Quality Engineering Strategy
- Define and evolve a multi-layered QE strategy including functional testing, performance, end-to-end (E2E) flows, user acceptance testing (UAT), and UX congruency.
- Develop test plans and frameworks that optimize both speed and depth of coverage, leveraging automation-first principles.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted test design, self-healing test automation, and intelligent test selection to maximize velocity and feedback quality.
Deliver Testing Excellence
- Ensure quality across web/mobile front ends, backend services, APIs, third-party integrations, and orchestration layers.
- Oversee performance, load, and scalability testing to ensure system resilience under real-world hotel operations workloads.
- Own E2E testing architecture across verticals, with a strong focus on experience fidelity and cross-functional integration.
Champion Shift-Left & Dev Collaboration
- Integrate QE with early-stage design, code reviews, and architectural planning.
- Promote test-in-code, contract testing, and static analysis as part of a modern shift-left approach.
Elevate Observability & Quality Signals
- Integrate with engineering and SRE to establish test observability, SLIs/SLOs for quality, and feedback loops.
- Enable the team to respond faster to incidents and detect regressions earlier with data-driven quality intelligence.
Enable Scalable Testing Infrastructure
- Standardize automation tooling across teams.
- Drive Test Data Management (TDM) practices to improve test reliability and reduce flakiness at scale.
- Explore resilience/chaos testing to validate system behavior under failure conditions.
Measure & Improve
- Establish quality KPIs and dashboards that track release readiness, automation health, test coverage, and defect trends.
- Conduct retrospectives, root cause analyses, and release reviews to drive learning loops.
Requirements
- Strong experience with web/mobile application testing, backend/API validation, and test automation frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead performance/load testing initiatives.
- Deep understanding of Agile delivery models, CI/CD practices, and release governance.
- Strong partnership skills with Engineering, Product, UX, and DevOps teams.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and mentoring abilities.
Preferred
- Exposure to AI/ML in test automation, intelligent test selection, or GPT-assisted test case generation.
- Experience implementing observability into QE pipelines or integrating test health into SRE dashboards.
- Background in the hospitality/travel domain or other ops-heavy, multi-system environments.
- Knowledge of accessibility, internationalization testing, and mobile device QA strategies.
