We are seeking an experienced Superintendent / Project Manager to join us as a 1099 independent contractor to oversee field operations on traveling projects across the Southeast.

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards, all while maintaining safety and fostering positive client relationships. Responsibilities
As our Traveling Superintendent / Project Manager, you will serve as the primary on-site leader responsible for executing electrical scopes on ground-up and renovation projects. You will manage day-to-day field activities, coordinate with general contractors and subcontractors, maintain quality and schedule, and drive projects to successful completion while traveling throughout the Southeast.
- Lead and manage multiple commercial construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee all on-site electrical installation, including layout, conduit, wiring, panel work, and systems integration.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate seamless project execution across different sites.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, 2-week look-aheads, and daily/weekly reports.Ensure compliance with electrical codes (NEC) and contract documents.
- Coordinate with GCs, owners, and design teams to resolve field issues and RFIs. Track job costs, productivity, material deliveries, and change orders.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and construction documents; interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate implementation on-site.
- Conduct quality control inspections and punch list management.
- Travel extensively throughout the Southeast (VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, TN, and surrounding states) with home time most weekends or as project schedule allows.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore and Bluebeam for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Experience
- 5 years of progressive experience as an Electrical Superintendent, Foreman, or Project Manager in commercial/industrial construction.
- Strong background in electrical systems for commercial, industrial, hospitality, or multifamily projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical drawings.
- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage crews independently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal truck/vehicle for travel and job-site use.
- Willingness to travel 100% within the Southeast (candidates based anywhere in the South are encouraged to apply).
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working as a 1099 contractor with minimal direct supervision.
