Position Summary:
The Employment Specialist for FCS Services helps individuals with Medicaid-funded supports achieve their employment goals. This role focuses on assisting people with mental health, substance use, or housing challenges to prepare for, obtain, and maintain competitive employment in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centered employment services under the FCS program
- Support clients by helping to identify vocational goals on an Individual Employment Plan and modify plans as necessary
- Participate in intakes, assessments, and Person-Centered Plans
- Assist clients with job readiness, applications, résumé development, and interview preparation
- Connect clients to community employers and identify job opportunities that match their skills and goals
- Deliver on-the-job coaching and support as needed to help clients succeed
- Conduct outreach to build relationships with employers and promote supported employment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service notes and billing
- Collaborate with behavioral health providers, housing specialists, and other team members
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with employment services, behavioral health, housing, or workforce programs strongly preferred
- Understanding of barriers faced by people with mental health, substance use, or housing instability
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in the community and as part of a team
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, electronic health record systems)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
