Repository Specialist I
Basic Function
Assists with Quality Control (QC) oversight of routine facility management tasks, inventory management tasks, and order fulfillment activities with minimal supervision using established protocols and SOPs.
Participates in repository operations planning. Provides assistance on process development activities.
Nature and Scope
This position reports administratively to the Capability Manager (CM). The position will work closely with a project / task leader on technical matters;
serve as general QC reviewer for routine repository operations. Work closely with Quality Assurance (QAU) to ensure documentation and outputs are compliant with applicable regulatory guidelines.
May contribute to the preparation of standard operating procedures.
Essential Functions
Financial accountabilities specific to this position :
- Assists project leaders to complete receipt, inventory, and order fulfillment activities within time and budget constraints.
- Immediately notifies supervisor of lack of billable project work. Provides supervisor with summary of time availability and project progress, alerting supervisor to potential overload on project work and impact on project budgets.
- Demonstrates financial responsibility by efficient use of resources.
Client accountabilities specific to this position :
- Identifies potential problems and opportunities that may affect MRIGlobal or client project work, and informs CM.
- Makes an effort to listen to and understand internal and external customer needs and concerns. Gives high priority to customer satisfaction and understands that all activities conducted on a project affect client satisfaction and future work.
Internal Process accountabilities specific to this position :
Performs procedures required for maintenance and functioning of a repository. Reviews orders in conjunction with the project leader or program manager.
QCoversight of materials for shipment, shipping documentation, and physical shipment of material; included is review and understanding of the MSDS (SDS) relating to the material being shipped.
- Assists with preparation and shipping documents of materials (hazardous materials, pharmaceuticals, API, etc.) in compliance with DOT and IATA / ICAO regulations.
- Works closely with the project leaders to perform QC review of documentation for receipt, distribution, inventory, and disposal of materials.
- Assists with inventory reconciliation as required by the program at the direction of the project leader.
- Conducts work in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) guidelines or current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Assists in process development and improvement, test plan development, and software validation. Performs peer review of documentation.
Manages work on multiple projects, each with specific requirements and different goals.
Assists in the preparation of appropriate repository procedures, SOPs, QA / QC guidelines, protocols, and final reports.
Success Factors
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), organizational, problem solving and time management skills; ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated success with repository capabilities i.e. inventory tracking and QA / Safety / SOP / GLP / GCP / cGMP.
- Understands the contract research business and federal regulations.
- Proficient PC skills and ability to learn new software and systems.
- Ability to plan, assess priorities, and meet objectives.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet objectives.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications to ship Dangerous Goods (documented DOT and IATA training).
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience with an inventory management database
- Experience in working in a regulated work environment
- Experience working with / shipping hazardous dangerous goods
