Job Title: Oilfield Journeyman Electrician – Kenedy TX
Location: Kendy TX | EagleFord
Schedule: 5/2 (M-F and weekends as needed)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician with oilfield experience to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on oil and gas production sites. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, NEC, safety compliance, and the ability to work in demanding field conditions including long hours and possible holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on oilfield equipment and facilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues on motors, control panels, and instrumentation
- Work with:
- 24V–480V systems
- 12V DC – 24V DC systems
- VFDs, PLCs, RTUs, and motor controls
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, company standards, and oilfield safety regulations
- Work outdoors in varying weather and remote locations
- Coordinate with operations (customers) and other field personnel
- Responsible and show up to work on time
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License - TX
- 3 years of oilfield or industrial electrical experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial environments
- Experience with automation/controls is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Preferred Experience
- Oil & gas production facilities (tank batteries, SWDs, compressor stations, production equipment)
- Basic Instrumentation knowledge a plus
- Hazardous location classifications (Class I Div I/II)
Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Stand, walk, and work long hours in outdoor conditions
- Ability to be on call out rotation
- Live within 45 minutes to Kenedy TX (Preferred)
- Use of proper PPE (FR Clothing CAT 2)
