What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembler position at MRF Materials Research Furnaces?
Job Summary
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, schematics, or written/verbal instructions. This role supports the timely production of quality products and adheres to safety and compliance standards, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requirements for nonexempt employees. Overtime may be required and will be compensated in accordance with federal and state labor laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Assembly of products according to specifications.
· Preparation of hoses for water-cooling systems.
· Assemble pallets for shipping furnaces.
· Rework and make parts as needed.
· Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility.
· Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
· Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
· Deliver and pick-up parts/products from vendors.
· Assemble gas systems read blueprints and drawings and also follow verbal instructions.
Qualifications
· High school diploma
· 1-2 years hands-on experience in manufacturing environment
· Some mechanical knowledge/understanding
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
