Part-Time Marketing Director
MRD Consulting LLC
Delano, Minnesota
Part-Time | Approximately 15–25 Hours per Week
About MRD Consulting LLC
MRD Consulting LLC is a business consulting firm based in Delano, Minnesota, providing practical financial, operational, strategic, and business advisory services to small and closely held businesses.
We work directly with business owners to identify problems, improve financial performance, strengthen operations, manage risk, and capitalize on opportunities. Our approach is practical, entrepreneurial, and focused on measurable results.
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Marketing Director to develop and execute a marketing strategy that expands our visibility, strengthens our brand, and—most importantly—generates qualified leads and new consulting opportunities.
This is a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who can develop the strategy and execute it.
Position Summary
The Part-Time Marketing Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing MRD Consulting’s marketing activities.
The successful candidate will work directly with company leadership to develop our marketing strategy and then turn that strategy into action through digital marketing, content creation, social media, email marketing, website optimization, video and podcast promotion, public relations, and targeted business-development campaigns.
This position is ideal for an experienced marketing professional who enjoys working independently, moving quickly, testing ideas, and measuring results.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
· Develop and manage an overall marketing plan for MRD Consulting.
· Establish marketing priorities, campaigns, budgets, and performance goals.
· Develop strategies to generate qualified leads for consulting services.
· Identify and target industries, geographic markets, and business-owner audiences with strong potential for MRD Consulting.
· Manage and improve the company’s website content and overall digital presence.
· Coordinate website updates, landing pages, calls to action, and lead-capture strategies.
· Develop and execute search engine optimization (SEO) initiatives.
· Evaluate and manage paid digital advertising campaigns when appropriate.
· Manage company social media channels, including LinkedIn and other appropriate platforms.
· Develop a consistent social media publishing calendar.
· Write, edit, and coordinate business-oriented marketing content.
· Turn consulting knowledge, client issues, industry developments, and business insights into useful marketing content.
· Develop articles, newsletters, email campaigns, case studies, presentations, and other marketing materials.
· Assist in developing and promoting video, podcast, webinar, and other educational content.
· Repurpose long-form content into social posts, email content, short videos, articles, and other marketing assets.
· Build and maintain email marketing lists and campaigns.
· Develop campaigns targeting current clients, former clients, prospects, referral sources, and other business contacts.
· Develop strategies for building MRD Consulting’s reputation as a trusted resource for small-business owners.
· Identify public relations, speaking, podcast, media, and thought-leadership opportunities.
· Develop referral-marketing strategies involving attorneys, CPAs, bankers, insurance professionals, lenders, business brokers, and other professional advisors.
· Coordinate branding and ensure consistency across marketing materials.
· Develop sales and marketing collateral for specific consulting services.
· Assist with proposals, presentations, capability statements, and other business-development materials.
· Evaluate marketing technology, software, automation, and AI tools that can improve marketing effectiveness.
· Manage outside marketing vendors, freelancers, designers, web developers, or advertising providers as needed.
· Establish marketing KPIs and regularly report results to management.
· Track website traffic, inquiries, lead sources, conversion rates, campaign performance, cost per lead, and other relevant metrics.
· Evaluate marketing expenditures based on measurable business results.
· Maintain an organized pipeline of marketing initiatives and upcoming campaigns.
· Recommend new marketing opportunities based on data, competitive activity, and changing market conditions.
· Perform other marketing and business-development activities appropriate to the position.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
· 5 years of professional marketing experience, preferably involving B2B or professional services marketing.
· Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing strategies.
· Strong writing, editing, and business communication skills.
· Experience with digital marketing, email marketing, social media, SEO, and content marketing.
· Experience generating leads for a professional-services or B2B organization.
· Working knowledge of website content management and marketing analytics.
· Ability to translate complex business, accounting, financial, and operational topics into clear and compelling marketing content.
· Strong project-management and organizational skills.

· Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
· Ability to prioritize projects based on their potential business impact.
· Comfortable working directly with business owners and senior management.
Experience marketing accounting, consulting, legal, financial, construction, or other professional services is a plus.
Experience with video, podcasts, webinars, graphic design, marketing automation, CRM systems, and AI-assisted marketing tools is also beneficial.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.
What We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in someone who is hands-on and results-oriented.
This is not a position focused solely on developing marketing plans and then handing execution to others. The Marketing Director should be comfortable moving between strategy and execution—developing a campaign in the morning and writing, editing, publishing, analyzing, or coordinating the actual campaign later that day.
The successful candidate will be curious about business, comfortable learning new industries, willing to experiment with new marketing approaches, and focused on determining what actually produces qualified leads and new business.
Schedule and Work Arrangement
· Part-time position
· Approximately 15–25 hours per week
· Flexible schedule
· Based in Delano, Minnesota
· Specific on-site, hybrid, or remote-work arrangements will be discussed with qualified candidates.
Compensation
$40–$60 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Approximately $31,000–$78,000 annually, depending on hourly rate and actual weekly hours worked.
Additional performance-based compensation may be available based on mutually established marketing and business-development objectives.
Why Join MRD Consulting?
This position offers an experienced marketer the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the growth of a small consulting firm without the bureaucracy of a large corporate marketing department.
You will work directly with company leadership, have substantial input into marketing strategy, and have the freedom to test new ideas and marketing channels. Success will be measured primarily by the quality of the marketing program, growth in market visibility, qualified opportunities generated, and ultimately the contribution marketing makes to the growth of the firm.
To Apply
Please submit your resume along with a brief description of your relevant marketing experience.
We are particularly interested in hearing about specific examples of marketing programs or campaigns you have personally developed and executed, including any measurable results you achieved.
