Summary
We are seeking qualified Construction Observers to observe and verify the construction phase of various infrastructure projects in Geneva, NY. This role will be responsible for monitoring, communicating, and documenting the work activities that are observed. Projects may include: water distribution systems, sewer collections systems, water/wastewater facilities and pump stations, road and drainage improvements and new/existing building facilities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections and assessments throughout the construction process.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address any issues or discrepancies observed on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of observations, inspections, and reports for documentation purposes.
- Assist in coordinating communication between contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Evaluate construction progress and provide feedback to improve efficiency and quality.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include 3-5 years of utility and/or site construction experience.
- The successful candidate will be familiar with construction documents, primarily drawings and specifications, and able to ensure that the construction conforms to the information presented in these documents.
- The individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and comprehension of Word, Excel and web-based document control are required.
- Experience with wastewater requirements, building construction, and concrete work is a plus.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are also helpful to perform the duties of this role.
Pay Range: $30.00/hour - $38.00/hour
As of this posting, the estimated hourly pay range for this position is $30.00 – $38.00/hour. Actual hourly rate will be based upon criteria such as experience, qualifications and skill level. We are an EEO Employer.*
