- Has early industry experience (typically 3–8 years)
- Enjoys solving complex technical problems
- Is ready to begin leading people while staying hands-on
- Lead hands-on research in advanced materials and new technologies
- Guide and mentor a small team (4 direct reports)
- Develop new ideas with long-term business impact
- Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, and business teams
- Communicate results clearly and move projects forward
- Contribute to Sunstar’s global innovation efforts
Required
- Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in polymer science, materials science, chemistry, or related field
- 3–8 years of industry or applied research experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in research
- Interest in mentoring and developing others
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
- Experience with adhesives, coatings, sealants, or polymers
- Experience leading projects or mentoring others
- Track record of innovation (patents, products, publications)
