Responsibilities:
- Devote at least four hours per week to one-on-one training of hourly employees through teachable moments, demonstrations, and questioning
- Ensure proper use of and compliance with company training systems and materials
- Interview, hire, and onboard new employees
- Conduct timely formal and informal evaluations of employee performance and progress
- Recommend and administer pay increases
- Apply progressive discipline fairly and consistently, including terminations when necessary
- Assist in leading employee meetings as needed
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
- Be capable of fulfilling and meeting all food cost, scheduling, and payroll tasks and standards (once trained on and assigned these tasks).
- Expedite necessary repairs and/or maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment and furnishing within and around the shop.
- Follow written and verbal direction promptly
- Proven leadership and managerial experience
- Strong people skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate employees
- Effective collaborator with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license
- Previous restaurant or food service background is preferred
