A General Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on various types of vehicles.
Responsibilities include:
- Receive and carry out Repair Orders as dispatched
- Perform diagnostic services and troubleshoot to determine repair needs
- Provide labor, time, and parts estimates for repair services
- Perform high quality and efficient repair services for various automotive systems, including: engine, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning, in accordance with center and factory standards
- Perform quality control checks for repaired vehicles to ensure repairs are complete
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation for repair services
- Maintain an organized, clean workspace and accounting for dealership and personal tools at all times
- Communicate efficiently with Service Advisors and Parts Department employees
- Participate in ongoing training programs to develop expertise in industry-leading technologies and processes
Skills and Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a technician (OEM or independent shop experience)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License in applicable state and a good driving record
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Candidate must have their own basic automotive tool set
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Strong mechanical & electrical diagnostic aptitude and willingness to learn with ongoing training
- ASE Certifications are strongly considered
- Physical strength and stamina to perform required repairs
Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background check. This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5pm) at $17 - $35 per hour flat rate.
Pay: $17.00 - $35.00 per hour
