Duties
- Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls and arrive equipped to assess and address vehicle problems efficiently.
- Perform mechanical repairs such as jump-starts, tire changes, fuel deliveries, lockouts, and minor engine fixes using hand tools and power tools.
- Utilize schematics, automotive electrical systems knowledge, and diagnostic tools like ohmmeters to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks including fluid top-offs, belt replacements, and basic mechanical system repairs to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
- Follow safety regulations strictly during all repair activities, manual handling procedures, and when operating welding or power tools.
- Document all service activities thoroughly in logs and reports for accountability and future reference.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining repairs needed, and ensuring their satisfaction with the assistance provided.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, especially in automotive electrical systems and diesel mechanics.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics, and diagnostic instruments such as ohmmeters.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while working on vehicles or lifting heavy parts.
- Experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices within automotive or related industries.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to roadside assistance work environments.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems repair including belts, hoses, brakes, suspension components, and electrical wiring.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities.
