Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance the shopping experience
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, including merchandising and stocking shelves as needed
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team efforts during busy periods
- Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly attitude
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
