Espresso Machine & Coffee Equipment Technician
Location: Oakland, CA (Bay Area field service)

The Role
We’re seeking a skilled Espresso Machine & Coffee Equipment Technician to join our service team. This role combines hands-on mechanical work, customer interaction, and the satisfaction of keeping our partners’ coffee programs running smoothly.
You’ll work with some of the most respected names in coffee equipment — FAEMA, Rocket, Cimbali, Slayer, La Marzocco, Fetco, Bunn, Curtis, and more — performing installations, repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics both in the field and at our Oakland workshop.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and related systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance testing.
- Install new equipment, including water filtration and relevant plumbing/electrical connections.
- Communicate with customers and internal teams to coordinate service calls and timelines.
- Maintain organized records, parts inventory, and service documentation.
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation for urgent service needs (stipend or overtime eligible).
- Uphold manufacturer safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Hands-on experience repairing or maintaining equipment or machinery.
- Experience with coffee or espresso equipment preferred (training provided).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and composure under pressure.
- Excellent customer service, organization, and time management.
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to ~50 lbs and work in tight spaces behind bar setups.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with espresso machine brands: FAEMA, Rocket, Cimbali, Slayer, La Marzocco, Fetco, Bunn, Curtis.
- Experience in the coffee or hospitality industry.
- Basic digital literacy (email, work orders, inventory software).
- Soldering/brazing or EPA 608 certification.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $25-35 per hour depending on experience
- Benefits: 401(k) with company contribution, Kaiser health plan, paid time off and holidays, company vehicle or mileage reimbursement, uniforms, tools, and ongoing training.
