Fill-In Store Associate | Mr. B’s Package Store
Mr. B’s Package Store is seeking a dependable fill-in associate to cover shifts as needed. This position involves assisting customers, operating the register, stocking merchandise, receiving deliveries, and maintaining a clean and organized store.
The associate will often be working alone, so independence, sound judgment, and critical thinking are essential. The right candidate can manage daily responsibilities without constant supervision, prioritize customer needs, solve routine problems, and recognize when an issue requires the manager’s attention.
Customer care is a priority. We are looking for someone who greets customers warmly, listens to their needs, provides helpful assistance, and treats everyone with patience and respect.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive customer service and complete purchases accurately.
- Learn and correctly operate the store’s computer-based register.
- Manage customer service and store duties independently, adjusting priorities as needed.
- Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with inventory checks.
- Receive deliveries, check orders for accuracy, and put products away.
- Complete routine cleaning and keep the store tidy.
- Use good judgment when addressing problems and communicate concerns to the manager.
Requirements
- Reliable attendance and availability to cover shifts as needed.
- Confidence working alone and the ability to stay productive without direct supervision.
- Critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and responsible decision-making.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn and accurately follow register procedures.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Pay and Training
Pay starts at $9 per hour during training and increases to $10 per hour once training is completed. Training typically takes one to two weeks. Employees are paid weekly on Fridays.
The ideal candidate takes ownership of their shift, is willing to learn, and cares about both our customers and the store.
Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 33.0 per week
