What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader I position at MPW?
JOB FUNCTION:
1. This position is responsible for operation of specific job sites.
2. This position is accountable for delivering and maintaining high standards of the customer through business operations.
3. Supervise small groups of employees on specific job sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for site set up including water blast hose, or vacuum hose.
2. Transports equipment to the job site.
3. Completes minor repair on vehicles or equipment as needed.
4. Directs labor force in manual tasks.
5. Works along with labor-force in completing manual tasks, using specialized equipment as necessary to break loose material for vacuuming, water blasting surfaces clean and/or lancing pipes, tubes, or holes.
6. Performs other duties as directed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. This position is called upon to support the labor force personnel in job task completion.
2. At times this position is asked to assume technical responsibilities and laborer responsibilities during the same job.
3. The incumbent must overcome this duel responsibility and become more skilled to assume the next level of responsibility.
4. This position may be called in at various hours and days of the week 24/7, due to the emergency response nature of the business.
5. Several long and non-traditional hours are required as a regular part of this position.
6. Has the authority to make unsupervised decisions consistent with the scope of responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to carry/lift up to 75 lbs.
2. Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves heavy manual labor.
3. Ability to maintain alertness and acuity that is not typically impaired by any medication, diet, or physical condition.
4. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit and maneuver in confined spaces.
5. Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc.
6. Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Education.
2. Valid Drivers License.
3. CDL a plus.
4. Specific systems exposure in an industrial or vocational environment.
5. Effective oral and written interpersonal communication.
6. Effective listening skills.
7. 1-2 years of “hands on” experience with equipment maintenance ideal.
