Job Description
JOB FUNCTION:
The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according
to a specific schedule and budget. This includes acquiring and securing resources and
coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects according
to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee
quality control throughout its life cycle.
Essential Functions
1. Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
2. Define project scope, goals and deliverables as well as project success criteria.
3. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
4. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear
fashion.
5. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Place orders
for any needed items during the project.
6. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
7. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
8. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
9. In conjunction with the customer, develops work scope, schedules, and staffing to
complete the work defined by the client, including on-going work, new projects and shut
downs.
10. Ensures the established and un-established quality standards of MPW and the customer
are met or exceeded
11. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and
presentations.
12. Manage changes in scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
13. Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report.
14. Reviews the disciplinary practices of supervisors and foremen to ensure consistency as
related to disciplining employees.
15. Responsible for daily meetings with the customer to review the status of the work
schedule.
16. Responsible for developing the supervisory staff to meet the management needs of the
account and to provide adequate supervisory backup
17. Performs other duties as directed.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Situations may arise in the areas of employee relations, customer relations, quality
assurance measures and/or production.
2. Ensuring the “job” gets done in the time frame established and the quality of the work
meets or exceeds standards of the customer.
3. The project manager must also be constantly “looking” for other business
opportunities. This includes both industrial and other facility support opportunities.
4. Has the authority to make unsupervised decisions consistent with the scope of
responsibilities.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Logistics or other
related fields.
2. PMP credentials a plus.
3. Associate degree with appropriate experience will be considered.
4. 3-5 years of project management experience a plus.
5. Strong technical/mechanical skills.
6. Candidates should have proficiency with all MS Office applications.
7. Professional oral and written interpersonal communication.
8. Individually motivated and willing to travel.
