Job Skills / Requirements
MPS Security is actively recruiting for experienced and qualified individuals to work as Flex Officers (unarmed Security Officers) in a healthcare setting, assisting in the protection of client property, client assets, and client personnel, as well as the client's patients and visitors.
All Security Officers working on this contract will maintain a high visibility presence, to prevent any illegal or inappropriate activities. The goal is to detect, visually deter, and observe & report.
All Flex Officers are scheduled to work exclusively at our healthcare accounts in Murrieta and Wildomar (CA), to provide fill-in coverage in the event of call off's and time off requests, and to provide additional security coverage as requested by the client.
All Flex Officers are required to complete pre-employment medical fitness examinations, and are also required to pass healthcare-specific de-escalation and safety/security training, before placement. All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screening.
All Flex Officers are required to follow the post orders in effect at the healthcare accounts, and are subject to all company policies, procedures, protocols, and client requirements.
All applicants are subject to a background check and employment verification. Any omission of prior employment with MPS Security will result in the withdrawal of any offer of employment.
All Flex Officers are subject/required to follow all supervisory training.
Weekly schedule: As needed, all shifts (day, swing, grave); work hours are not guaranteed for Flex Officers; all schedule assignments are subject to change at any time.
Pay rate: $21.00/hour
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Protect client property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Screen visitors in accordance with client protocol
- Maintain access control of visitors/issue visitor badges
- Investigate disturbances
- Act lawfully in direct defense of life and property
- Ensure only authorized personnel are admitted into restricted areas within client premises
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
- Complete activity reports each day, on all shifts
- Compete incident reports as required
- Responds to emergency calls for assistance and utilize de-escalation techniques to control disorderly conduct or combative patients, and demonstrate age-specific responses in these situations
- Randomly foot patrol the building's interior, exterior, and perimeter
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
- Monitor alarm systems and video cameras, and operate emergency equipment as needed
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid guard card issued by BSIS (we do not provide guard card training), and all applicants will be required to provide copies of training certificates to ensure compliance with BSIS annual refresher training requirements
- Two forms of government-issued ID
- 1-year of security experience
- Prior healthcare security experience required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certified
- Ability to work in high profile/high activity setting
- Excellent public relations/interaction skills
- Ability to use simple keypad electronic devices (i.e. computer, smartphone/radio, camera system, etc.)
- Able to work 4 to 12-hour shifts without issue
- Availability to work all days/all shifts without restriction
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksites and must maintain updated contact information.
- Military/Law Enforcement experience a plus (former military/law enforcement must have a valid guard card)

1-2 Years Security Experience
