What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk (2787) position at MPP?
Responsible for the shipping/receiving process (preparing shipments to customers and preparing all necessary paperwork and shipping/receiving documents such as invoices, and bill of lading.)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist supervisor in recognizing any packing or quality problems and assist in the solution to these problems by maintaining communication with Quality Assurance and Production Control to satisfy customer specifications and shipping dates.
- Prepare/maintain all records that are related to the Shipping and Receiving area as assigned.
- Verify product availability for all shipments due.
- Entry of shipments into computer system.
- Preparation of international shipments including proper documentation.
- Maintain proper inventory of packaging materials and shipping supplies.
- Resolve and assist with any shipping/receiving problems.
- Verify incoming receivables (MRO’s) for departments. This includes verification of shipment, packaging slips and approval of billing for Accounts Payable.
- Keep department organized and efficient.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment is preferred
- Must be computer proficient in Microsoft programs.
- Experience with QAD operating system a preferred.
